You just need to follow a few steps in our online registration process. When we have received the required documents, we will submit your information to request the MMSI license. Dutch MMSI radio license and AIS number

We provide UK radio licenses and Dutch radio licenses. The Dutch radio license is only available when registering or owning a Dutch Worldwide Zeebrief registration or having a Dutch passport. Also it requires a EU radio operators license. The Dutch radio license will be delivered as a paper certificate.

Polish MMSI radio license & AIS number

In combination with a Polish boat registration, we can deliver the matching MMSI radio license and AIS number from Poland.

Gibraltar MMSI radio license & AIS number (NEW)

How much does a MMSI radio license and AIS number cost?

The costs for a MMSI radio license depends on the country of registration:

Dutch MMSI radio license & AIS number

The costs for the Dutch MMSI radio license and AIS number are € 250,-. In combination with a Dutch Zeebrief boat registration the costs are € 150,-.  Annual radio license tax is € 75,-. This will be invoiced on annual calendar base (jan-dec) and again in the month of January.

Polish MMSI radio license & AIS number

The costs for the Polish MMSI radio license and AIS number are € 350,-. In combination with a Polish boat registration, the price remains the same. Annual radio license tax is € 37,50. This will be invoiced on annual calendar base (jan-dec) and again in the month of January.

Gibraltar MMSI radio license & AIS number

The Gibraltar MMSI radio license and AIS number are only available when making a request for the Gibraltar boat registration. When registering a Gibraltar boat registration the MMSI radio license and AIS number are included.

UK MMSI radio license & AIS number

The costs for the UK MMSI radio license and AIS number are € 250,-. In combination with a UK Part 1 boat registration the costs are € 150,-. : Annual radio license tax is € 34. This will be invoiced on annual calendar base (jan-dec) and again in the month of January.

How long is my MMSI radio license valid?

To use the radio equipment on your yacht, a MMSI license is required, this one official license is issued in Dutch or English. The MMSI license is valid for 10 years as long as no changes are made to the equipment.

What equipment is a MMSI license for?

A MMSI license allows you to use the radio equipment on board, the VHF, AIS and EPRIB may not be used without a license. Advantages of using a VHF (AIS) within a VHF radio there is a built-in AIS (automatic identification system), this makes it possible to look around the corner. An AIS has a lot similarities with the radar, only the connection is much better and has it ship no longer needs a rotating antenna.

  • The VHF radio allows you to communicate with lock keepers or bridge keepers.
  • At busy junctions, communication takes place via traffic posts, without a VHF radio no contact can be made.
  • When you get into trouble with your boat, you can use the VHF contact is made with, for example, a coast guard center. Help can be quickly arranged

Can a UK AIS & MMSI radio license be transferred to the new owner of a yacht?

No, this is not possible. In such case the current radio license needs to be deleted. Once deleted the new owner can make a request for a new UK AIS & MMSI Radio license . New numbers and a new call sign will be provided. It is not possible to maintain the old numbers and call sign.

No, you do not need to show your radio operators certificate. Nobody will ask for it when creating the UK radio license.

Can we always update the radio license with new equipment or removed equipment?

Yes and no, we can update the Dutch radio license at any moment. Most of the time the update will be ready the same day. To request us the update we need to receive a email with the old and new radio license details. To update a radio license there are additional costs. For the UK radio license we can update the equipment and emergency contact only. For the Polish radio license we can not make any updates at all.
