Polish boat registration is for a lifetime
Update: Possible New Regulations for Polish Yacht Registrations
The Polish government is currently preparing revisions to the legislation for yacht registrations (REJA24). These proposed changes are not yet officially confirmed, but based on the information available so far, the draft includes several new requirements for both new and possibly also existing registrations.
The potential new obligations may include:
- a mandatory inspection before registration carried out by a recognized organization,
- a system for periodic data verification,
- and additional administrative checks on ownership and vessel details.
These proposed rules are still under development and may change before they come into force. At this moment, there is no required action for yacht owners. However, it is realistic to expect that once the final legislation is published, owners of already registered vessels may be asked to resubmit or reconfirm certain documents or certificates.
At BlueWater Registration Services, we are closely monitoring these developments. As soon as the Polish authorities publish the final version of the new regulations, we will inform all our clients immediately and proactively about any potential impact.
Prefer a registration without future inspection requirements?
For yacht owners who prefer a flag state with no mandatory yacht inspections now or in the future for pleasure yachts under 24 metres, the San Marino yacht registration is an excellent and future-proof alternative. San Marino has officially confirmed that no inspection obligation will be introduced for yachts under 24 metres and that no such requirement is being considered.
You can download the official letter from the Director of the San Marino Maritime Authority confirming this HERE.
